He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Edna Coryell; a niece, Christina; and a special brother-in-law, Ken Gregory.
“Bud”, as he was called by all of his family and friends, is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Carol, of the home; two daughters, LaDonna Murray, and her husband, Bryan, and Sharon Spangler, and her husband, Mark, all of Lebanon, Missouri; a special granddaughter, Brittany Moore, and her husband, Tony; two grandsons, Derek and Mathew; two special great-grandchildren, Hayden, and Presley; along with other great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marshal Yates, and his wife, Lee, of Hartville, Missouri, and Doug Yates, and his wife Edna, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
He was born and raised in Oklahoma, and then moved with his family to Laclede County Missouri when he was seventeen years old. He began working in farming and construction and soon married Carol. They eventually were able to establish their own Black Angus cattle farm, near Lebanon, where they lovingly raised their daughters. Bud also operated a dairy farm for fourteen years and lived on the same farm for forty-eight years.
Bud had attended Second Freewill Baptist Church and made his faith the center of his life. He was always grateful for all of his blessings.
He liked being outdoors where his favorite activities were hunting and entertaining his grandchildren and great-grandchildren on his John Deere gator. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his great- grandchildren.
Bud was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and was a caring friend. We celebrate his life and know that his family and friends will hold tight to the wonderful memories he made for them during his lifetime.
Graveside funeral services will be Thursday, Oct. 22 at 10 a.m. at the Garden of Memory Cemetery in Lebanon, Missouri. Friends may call at their convenience.
