Arthur Glenn Horn's Obituary
Arthur Glenn Horn, son of Robert E. and Mary Ellen Stute Horn, was born June 30, 1918, near Seymour, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, May 27, 2006, in St. John’s Regional Health Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-seven years, ten months, and twenty-seven days. On December 17, 1939 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Hofmann Horn, and to this union a son and a daughter were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary, on December 13, 2003; four brothers, Carl Edwards, Orbie Horn, Lester Horn, and Bobby Horn; three sisters, Emma Beck, Elsie Crump, and Ruth Locher. Glenn is survived by a daughter, Patsy Climer, and her husband, Kenny, of Seymour, Missouri; a son, Jimmy Horn, and his wife, Marquetia, of Seymour, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Katrina Gray, and her husband, Russell, Eric Douglas, and his wife, Amanda, Leslie Long, and her husband, Joe, Yvonne Climer, T.W. Climer, and his wife, Melissa, Dustin Doyal, and his wife, Melissa, Michelle Horn, Lacey Ellison, and her husband, Cody, and Micayla Horn; six great-grandchildren, Dakota, J.D., Jessica, Brandon, Kylie, and Cory; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. He was born and raised in the Gentry Community and spent his whole life there on the farm. He worked in the camps of the Civilian Conservation Corps during the depression and was discharged on March 16, 1939. Glenn had made his profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Gentry Community Church, where he enjoyed his fellowship with his church family. He later attended services at Glenwood Healthcare held by Brother Kendall Fortner. He centered his life around his family and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought him much joy. His farm was very important to him and he loved his animals and farm machinery. He also enjoyed going out with his family and friends to eat at Mexican Villa. Glenn was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the wonderful memories he has created for his family and friends. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2006, in the Holman-Howe Chapel, Seymour. Burial will be in Gentry Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Seymour, Missouri. Memorial contributions to Gentry Cemetery may be made through the funeral home.
