Audra Stanifer's Obituary
Audra Faye Stanifer, daughter of Reverend Edd and Zelma Beula (Robertson) Phipps, was born July 15, 1941 in Ava, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, April 19, 2009 in her home, in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years, nine months, and four days.
In 1962 she was united in marriage to Robert Stanifer and to this union one son was born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; the father of her son; and one sister, Norma Lee Phipps.
Audra is survived by her son, Aaron Lee Stanifer, and his wife, Susan, of Fordland, Missouri; three granddaughters, Arica Smith, and her husband, Robert, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Brittney Eaton, and her husband, Shawn, of Clever, Missouri, and Jerrin O’Dell, of Fordland, Missouri; a great-grandson, Robert Braden Smith, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and was eagerly anticipating the birth of Brittney’s twins; a brother, Marvin Phipps, and his wife, Linda, of Cassville, Missouri; a sister, Nancy Crowell, and her husband, Jim, of Columbia, Missouri; a special niece, Maria Phipps, of Cassville, Missouri; two nephews, Ron Crowell, and his wife, J.B., of Lebanon, Missouri, and Bill Crowell, and his wife, Jamie, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; four great-nephews; a very special friend, Dottie King, of Mansfield, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised in Ava, where she graduated from Ava High School in the class of 1959. In 1973 she moved to Mansfield and worked thirty years as a sales representative for Avon, she took pride in serving all her clients and making them feel good. She also worked at the Mimosa Restaurant, and was employed with Signal Food Stores and Subway until her health began to fail a month ago.
Audra had made her profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mansfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was involved in many activities. She was also very involved in Relay for Life.
In her spare time she enjoyed watching Aaron’s Fox Trotter horses and was an avid reader.
Audra was a kind and caring person with a big heart. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and dear friends.
Services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April 23, 2009 in Holman-Howe Chapel, of Mansfield with burial in Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 6:00-8:00 P.M. in the funeral home. A memorial has been established to Relay for Life and may be made through Holman-Howe Funeral Home, P.O. Box 199, Mansfield, Missouri 65704.
