Audrey Davis' Obituary
Audrey Mildred Davis, daughter of James W. and Minnie Clara Raney Coffman, was born January 26, 1925, in Webb, Oklahoma. She departed this life Saturday, March 20, 2010, in James River Care Center, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of eighty-five years, one month, and twenty-four days. On July 25, 1943, she was united in marriage to Floyd John Davis, and to this union three daughters were born. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Floyd, in 1983; five brothers, Lester, Melvin, Arvin, Olan, and Kenneth Coffman; two sisters, Doris Coffman, and an infant; and two sons-in-law, Paul Hoevet, and Mark Anthony. Audrey is survived by three daughters, Wanda Hoevet, of Humansville, Missouri, Linda Anthony, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Brenda Snyder, of Ozark, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald Coffman, of Sullivan, Missouri; two sisters, Ethel Coffman, of Wichita, Kansas, and Nadine Dake, of Battle Creek, Michigan; three sisters-in-law, Elsie, Evelyn, and Susan Coffman; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the Mountain Grove, Missouri area, and attended school there. After she and Floyd were married, they made their home in the Lebanon community, where they lovingly raised their daughters. Throughout the years, Audrey was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family and also worked as a seamstress for the Rice Stix Factory, then for Alliance, and finally for the H. D. Lee Company, retiring in 1992. Audrey attended the Rock Chapel while living in Mountain Grove, and then attended Taylor Avenue Church of God and Highland Park Church of God in Lebanon for several years. Later, she attended Second Freewill Baptist Church. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, making quilts, reading, and going to eat at Taco Bell. She possessed a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh. Special memories Audrey’s family will cherish and hold dear were her love of gospel music and the wonderful family gatherings. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday March 24, 2010 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial is in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday evening 6-7:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials have been established to the Shriners Children's Hospital or the Gideon Bible Ministry. Donations may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
