Barbara Armstrong's Obituary
Barbara Ann Armstrong, daughter of Russell Moses Blevins and Bessie Irene (Denney) Blevins was born October 23, 1937 in Springfield Missouri. She departed this earth July 31, 2011 in St. John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and eight days.
She was preceded in death by her first husband George Ray Bunch; one son, Dennis Ray Bunch; her parents; her 2nd husband Malcolm J. Armstrong;her loving companion of 32 years Ray Klimeczek; her parents; four brothers: Raymond Blevins, Virgil Blevins, Herman Blevins and Harold Blevins; and two sisters, Lorene Brown and Della Moore.
She is survived by her two sons: Michiel S. Bunch and wife Kimberley of Kansas City Missouri and Larry D. Armstrong and fiancé Linda Shebelbon of Springfield, Missouri; 8 grandchildren: Stephen, Mike, Christopher, Malena, Melanie, Miranda, Amanda, Kylie; and 10 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Franklin D. Blevins and Larry R. Blevins and wife Sharon all of Kansas City, Kansas, as well as a host of family and friends.
Barbara spent her younger years in the Seymour Area, helping her parents in their family café. She then moved to Springfield in her teenage years, where she met and married George Ray Bunch, and to this union two sons, Dennis and Michiel, were born. In 1967, Barbara married Malcolm J. Armstrong and moved to Kansas City, Kansas and to this union one son, Larry, was born. She went on to complete her certificate as a Certified Nurses Assistant. She spent many years lovingly raising her family in the Kansas City area before returning home to the Seymour area in 2008.
Barbara had made Christ her Lord and Savior early in her life and faithfully served her Baptist faith by her generosity and kindness for others and God’s creatures.
She spent her time caring for her family, including her devoted dogs, where no strays were ever turned away. In her spare time Barbara enjoyed singing for her family and friends. She was especially fond of her grandchildren and great-grand children and was proud of the legacy she leaves behind.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, sister and a caring friend and neighbor. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish all the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends.
