Barbara Cantrell (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Barbara Ann Cantrell, daughter of Ray and Daisy Barnett Bennett, was born August 12, 1942 in Norwood, Missouri and departed this life January 22, 2014 in her daughter’s home in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas at the age of seventy-one years, five months and ten days.
She was united in marriage to Robert “Bob” Cantrell and to this union two children were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Bobby Bennett and R’Dean Barnett.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Terri Cantrell-Staude of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; son, Tim Cantrell and his wife, Maria of Sarasota, Florida; three granddaughters, Lindsey Somervell-Higley of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Shaila Lee Cantrell and Miranda Lee Cantrell both of Sarasota, Florida; two brothers, Darrell Bennett and his wife, Beate of Nuremberg, Germany and Harold Ray Bennett and his wife, Marilyn of Milan, Illinois; sister-in-law, Sherry Bennett of Ava, Missouri; many nieces and nephews, a friend, Jim Ryan as well as other relatives and many friends.
She was born and raised in the Norwood/Macomb area and graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1960 and lived most of her life in this area.
Barbara worked for many years as a legal assistant for various phone companies and retired from Verizon.
She was of the Baptist faith and had attended area churches over the years. She was also a member of the Little Pieceful Quilters Club in Mansfield.
In her spare time she enjoyed quilting, painting and traveling with Terri and Tim, but, her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many wonderful memories we had together.
