Barbara Ann Cargill (Seymour)'s Obituary
arbara Ann Flentge Cargill, daughter of Erwin John Flentge and Ester M. (Knaak) Flentge, was born on May 2, 1945 in Elgin, Illinois. On Monday October 8, 2012 she departed this life in her home near Seymour, Missouri at the age of sixty-seven years, five months and six days.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara is survived by her husband Michael Wayne Cargill, Sr.; her children Ronald J. Flentge and wife Lisa of Marshfield, Missouri, Linda Brookes and husband Wil, Michael W. Cargill, Jr. both of Seymour, Missouri, and Kenneth E. Cargill of Springfield, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews, and a host of other dear family and friends.
Born and raised in Kane County in Illinois, Barbara grew to have a love of nature. She met Michael Wayne Cargill on a blind date and on October 19, 1966 to two were united in marriage. Together the young couple raised their family in Elgin, Illinois. In 1985 they moved to the Seymour area and built a home in the country. Barbara enjoyed spending time outside with her family and the wildlife, including the deer that visited their backyard. In her garden, she found continent among the many colors of her flowers. Keeping her hands always busy, she made jewelry for her grandchildren and often spent hours sewing.
A member of the Baptist faith, Barbara played the organ at church, humbly serving her Lord Jesus in worship. Tender hearted, Barbara was one of the first to offer help to those in need. She gave a home to many strays that found their way to her door. Over the years, Barbara was there for her community, as a school bus driver in Illinois, and caring for seniors as a nurse aid in nursing homes. She gave her heart to her family, and she was the heart of their home.
Barbara Ann Cargill, a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments, cherishing the many memories she created for those she loved.
