Barbara C. Chesebro (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Barbara Caryl Glasser was born December 17, 1946 in Stromsburg, Nebraska, to Roy Glasser and Caryl Sterner Glasser. She passed away Saturday, December 2, 2023 in Mercy Hospital in Lebanon, Missouri. At the time of her passing, she was seventy-six years, eleven months and sixteen days of age.
Barbara grew up in Polk, Nebraska and graduated from Polk High School. She continued her education and graduated from Moody Bible Institute with a teaching degree.
On March 18, 1971, she married James P. Chesebro and to this union, two children were born, Jennifer and Clayton. Barbara was a fantastic mother and was so happy when she was able to add “Grandma” and “Great-Grandma” to her list of titles.
When Barbara was a young lady, she was employed in a line of work not normally thought of for women. She was employed in the lumber industry and was a lumberjack. Following her marriage and becoming a mother, Barbara made her career as a secretary for New Holland Tractor Corporation. She held this position from 1985 – 2021 when she retired. It was in 2021 that she and Jim moved to the farm in Falcon, Missouri.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jim, of Falcon, Missouri; her daughter, Jennifer Clifton and her husband, Ronnie of Falcon, Missouri; her son, Clayton Chesebro and his wife, Liz of Lincoln, Nebraska; nine grandchildren, Shayne, Ronnie III, Rachel, Emma, Olivia, Nora, Adalynn, Evelyn and Barrett; one great-granddaughter, Freya; her sister, Beverly Phillippi of Omaha, Nebraska; two brothers, Lauren Glasser of Iowa and Robert Glasser of Polk, Nebraska; and other relatives and friends.
Barbara’s life revolved around her precious grandchildren. She loved them so very much and enjoyed being with them whenever possible. Family was her number one priority.
She also enjoyed being out on the farm. Barbara liked gardening, raising chickens and scrapbooking.
She was a beautiful, kind and loving woman. She was patient and was a good friend to many.
Words cannot adequately express the impact she has had on the lives of her family and so many others. Her fingerprints are on us. We can only hope to live up to what she saw in us.
A memorial has been established to Little Creek Cemetery and donations may be made through the funeral home.
