Barbara Cole (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Barbara Cole, age 47, of Urbana, Missouri passed away on Monday, May 1, 2023.
Barbara Chenelle Sanderson-Cole was born on March 28, 1976, in Springfield, Missouri to Calvin and Viola (Katie) Jones-Sanderson. Barbara graduated from Buffalo High School in 1994. She then had her three children and later in life attended Bolivar Technical College receiving her CNA license. She worked for Buffalo Prairie Care Center and then went to Colonial Springs Nursing and Rehab where she spent the last 9 years of her time as a CNA. She loved her residents, even during the hard times, she would make it to work for them. Barbara was very caring and compassionate, being a shoulder of strength for her residents, co-workers, family, and friends.
Outside of work, Barbara loved to drink a cup of coffee, get lost in a book, watch her favorite shows, and spend any free time she could with her family and friends. She loved getting lost on a dirt road with just herself and music. Although she would deny it, Barbara recently became a “crazy cat lady” as all the stray cats seemed to find their way to her. She took it upon herself to give all these cats a home and loved each and every one of them as if they were just additional children she had.
She was preceded by her maternal grandparents Raleigh Dewight and Ruby Estelle Jones. Her paternal grandparents Henry Franklin and Irene Louise Sanderson. Barbara is survived by her three children Anthony Sanderson, Micayla Sanderson, and Alivia Cole. Parents Calvin and Beverly Sanderson and Viola (Katie) Jones-Sanderson and Gary Vance. Grandchildren Ember, Hayden, and Hudson. Siblings Stacey Kirk, Hank and Cassy Sanderson, and Timothy and Jaclyn Sanderson. Partner Joseph Schletzbaum and family, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and many beloved friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cantlon-Otterness and Viets Funeral Home, Buffalo, Missouri.
