Barbara Dennis Smith (Mansfield)'s Obituary
Barbara Sue Dennis Smith was born on January 4, 1932 in Mansfield Missouri to Orel and Hettie Dennis, and departed this life on December 28, 2015, surrounded by loving family at her home in Irving, Texas.
She accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and became a member of First Baptist Church of Mansfield. She was a graduate of Mansfield High School's class of 1950 and married Leo Smith, also of Mansfield, in April, 1951.
She worked in banks for many years as she and Leo lived in Overland Park, Kansas and Aurora, Illinois before they moved to Irving in 1966.
She was an active member of Plymouth Park Baptist Church in Irving from the time they arrived. She loved to read and loved to listen to good music, avocations she passed along abundantly to her son and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, two brothers Robert and Gene Dennis, three sisters, Reba Dennis, Aubrey Bailey, and Mary Light.
She is survived by her husband Leo; son David, his wife Lorynn, and grandchildren Evan and Charlotte Smith; her sister Donna Tutt, and family of Mansfield; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom have fond memories of her distinctive warmth, her contagious laughter, and her welcoming kindness.
