Barbara Filmer's Obituary
Barbara Jean Filmer, daughter of Jesse and Alma Wrinkle Wallace, was born June 20, 1939, in St. Louis, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, June 20, 2006, in Lake Regional Health Systems, in Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of sixty-seven years. Her parents preceded her in death. Barbara is survived by a daughter, Donna Moore, and her husband, Steve, of Santee, California; a son, Dwayne Filmer, of Huntington Beach, California; a grandchild, Tyler Moore; and many other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Overland area in St. Louis County, and graduated from Ritemer High School in the Class of 1958. She then attended Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri for two years before moving to California in 1962. She then worked as an inventory clerk at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California. In 1963, she met and married Don in San Diego, and then worked as a typist for Security Title and stayed home with the children until they were in school. She worked as a secretary at San Diego State University, and then at Home Base in El Cajon, California. In 1990, she went to work for the Internal Revenue Service in San Marcos, California until retiring in 2003, and moving to the Lake of the Ozarks. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, reading, and listening to music. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandson. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will cherish the memories she created for her family and friends Services are will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton. Burial will be in the Crocker Cemetery, Crocker, Missouri. Memorial donations to the American Diabetes Foundation and The American Cancer Society may be made through the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton, Missouri.
