Barbara Fohn's Obituary
arbara Marilyn Fohn, daughter of Norman L. and Ruby F. Cook Anderson, was born September 6, 1929, in Cookville, Missouri. She departed this life Tuesday, June 10, 2008, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years, nine months, and four days. On January 27, 1968, she was united in marriage to Russell Delbert Fohn, and together they shared thirty-seven years before his passing on March 17, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Delores Richard. Barbara is survived by two brothers, Dean Anderson, and his wife, Ruth, and Wayne Anderson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; three sons, Don Fohn, of Eldridge, Missouri, Jack Fohn, of Dallas, Texas, and Ted Fohn, of Fresno, California; a daughter, Debbie Barracks, of Waldo, Arkansas; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was born and raised in the Cookville community, and then graduated from Lebanon High School in the Class of 1947. She began a career as a telephone operator with the Lebanon Telephone Company, before moving to Parkville for a few years. She then made her home in Springfield where she worked for A.T. & T. for several years. After she and Delbert were married, they made their home in Springfield and Barbara devoted her life to being a dedicated homemaker and loving wife to her husband. After they retired, she and Delbert moved back to Lebanon and made their home. Barbara made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and attended Eldridge Full Gospel Church for as long as her health allowed. She enjoyed caring for her lawn and grew beautiful flowers and plants. She also liked helping others and spending time with her family and friends. Barbara was a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the memories she made for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2008, in the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday evening from 7 - 8:30 p.m. under the direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Lebanon, Missouri. Memorials to the Hughes Senior Citizen Center may be made through the funeral home. Return to top
