Barbara Goring's Obituary
Barbara Ann Teeters Goring, daughter of Floyd Lee and Edna Louise Eason Gooch, was born August 13, 1949, in Sikeston, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, December 23, 2009, in St. John’s Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of sixty years, four months, and ten days. On May 8, 1993, she was united in marriage to Gerald E. “Jerry” Goring, Sr., and they shared the last sixteen years. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Terry Wayne Teeters; three brothers, Louis, J.L. and James Gooch; and a sister, Ruby Willis. Barbara is survived by her husband, Jerry, Sr., of the home; two sons, Michael Lee Teeters, and his wife, Vicki, and Jeffrey Teeters, all of Lebanon, Missouri; five grandchildren, Kody Teeters, Dallas Teeters, Jason Goring, Jr., Cody Goring, and Stephen Tackett; a brother, Bobby Gooch, and his wife, Linda, of Phillipsburg, Missouri; a sister, Edna Marie Leighty, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Gwen Gooch, of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She was raised in the St. Louis area and attended St. Louis High School. She had made her home in the Lebanon area for the last thirty years. In addition to being a devoted homemaker and mother, Barbara had worked at Hickory Log in Dexter, Missouri, and at Breech Medical Center in Lebanon. Barbara made her profession of faith in Christ in 1991, and attended Dove Bible Church. In her spare time she enjoyed going to yard sales, and declared herself to be the “Queen of Yard Sales”. She also liked to go fishing and to the races. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and friends. Services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Monday December 28, 2009 at the Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon. Burial will be in Mount Rose Memorial Park. Visitation is Sunday evening 5-6:30 p.m. under the direction of the Holman-Howe Funeral Home Lebanon, Missouri. A memorial has been established and donations may be made through the funeral home.
