Barbara June Hedgepath (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Barbara June Hedgepath, daughter of the late Harold and Thelma (Gilbert) Doty, was born on August 27, 1935 in Nashville, Ohio and departed this life on March 27, 2021 in Springfield, Missouri. At the time of her passing she was 85 years and seven months of age.
Barbara was reared and attended school in Nashville, Ohio. She was united in marriage to Dee Hedgepath on January 4, 1953 in Rayville, Louisiana, and to this union four children were born, all of whom survive her. Barbara was a cook for Long Lane Schools for 22 years, and she loved feeding the children every day. She enjoyed sewing, taking care of her roses and other flowers, gardening, canning, and feeding the birds, especially hummingbirds.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Dee; her parents; two brothers, Larry and Kenny Doty; and one grandson, Dylan Hedgepath. She is survived by her children, Terry Hedgepath of Pittsburg, MO, Nancy and husband, David Daniel of Lebanon, MO, Cheryl and husband John Dabney of Lebanon, MO, and Karen Hedgepath of Lebanon, MO; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She also leaves other family members and many friends who will all truly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home. Escorts will be Robert Hedgepath, Richard Hedgepath, Roger Hedgepath, Ted Medlin, Nicholas Daniel, and Christopher Daniel. Honorary escorts will be Jeffery Medlin, Wyatt Hedgepath, and Lance Doty. Interment will be in the Maple Lawn Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
