On January 31, 1968, she was united in marriage to Sherman Woodrow Lowery, and together they shared thirty-seven years before his passing on November 26, 2005. Her parents also preceded her in death. Barbara is survived by two daughters, Lisa Duddy, and her husband, Gary, of Smithville, Missouri, and Debrah Porter, of Kingston, Missouri; a son, Phillip Adams, and his wife, Marcia, of Bethany, Missouri; a step-daughter, Lucille Kelley, and her husband, Dale, of St. Robert, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Mallory, Christopher, Andrew, Amy, Jackie, and Tammy; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Pollock, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Norma Coghill, of Lebanon, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and many friends. She was born and raised in Indiana, and then made her home in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1968, she moved to Lebanon, Missouri, where she met and married Sherman. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, Barbara also worked for the H. D. Lee Company for a few years. She then began working at Lebanon Properties, where she and Sherman lived, and took care of the laundry rooms, flower beds and grounds for several years. She eventually became the assistant office manager for Lebanon Properties. Barbara made her profession of faith in Christ early in her life and was called into the gospel ministry. She was an active and faithful member of Sleeper Pentecostal Church for many years, and liked playing the drums at services. She enjoyed checking on and visiting with the residents of Lebanon Properties and also with people in the local nursing homes. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed her children and grandchildren. She also had a great affection for babies. Barbara was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a concerned and caring neighbor and friend. She will be fondly remembered for her friendliness, her kindness to others, and for her deep religious faith, and she will be greatly missed.
