Barbara Rae Pinkley (Buffalo)'s Obituary
Barbara Rae Pinkley, daughter of the late Ray and Stella (Spencer) Standley, was born on August 30, 1938. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 21, 2024 at Cox South Hospital in Springfield, MO. At the time of her passing she was 86 years, one month, and 22 days of age.
Barbara lived her entire life around the Buffalo and Bolivar, MO area. She graduated from Halfway High School in 1956 and attended Southwest Baptist College. She was saved at Spring Valley Baptist Church when she was 12 years old and baptized at the Jefferson Bridge on Highway D. She later joined North Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist church where she remained a faithful member until her death. Barbara was united in marriage to Donald Eugene Pinkley on April 12, 1959, by Elder Hershelene Pinkley. To this union three sons were born, Mark, Kent, and Brent. She was a homemaker and worked for the Dallas County Assessor’s Office until she retired. She loved spending time with her family. Many memories were made on vacations, in particular visiting family in Arizona. She loved to watch her children and grandchildren playing baseball, basketball, and football. She always wanted updates and photos when she physically could no longer go to the games.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Don; her parents; her sister, Joyce & husband Cliff Stumne; and brothers-in-law, Tom Eaton and Bill Brown. She is survived by three sons, Mark Pinkley and Brent Pinkley of the home and Kent & wife Judy Pinkley of Elkland, MO; seven grandchildren, Ryan Pinkley, Kyle Pinkley, Katie & husband Klayton Stanley, Conner Pinkley, McKenzie Pinkley, Clayton Pinkley, and Collin Pinkley; five great-grandchildren, Nolan Pinkley, Tanner Pinkley, Bailynne Stanley, Avery Pinkley, and Lynlee Stanley; one sister, Shirley Stanley of Bolivar, MO; and three sisters-in-law, Wanda Brown of Raytown, MO, Shara Eaton of Kansas City, MO, and Charlene & husband R. C. Jones of Independence, MO. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, her church family, and many friends who will greatly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2024 in the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Skinner and Bro. Dusty Armstrong officiating. Escorts will be Kyle Pinkley, Ryan Pinkley, Conner Pinkley, Collin Pinkley, Clayton Pinkley, and Klayton Stanley. Honorary escorts will be Katie Stanley, McKenzie Pinkley, Nolan Pinkley, Tanner Pinkley, Bailynne Stanley, Lynlee Stanley, and Avery Pinkley. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery under the care and direction of the Cantlon-Otterness & Viets Funeral Home of Buffalo. Visitation will be from 2:00-3:00 p.m. Thursday at the Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Macedonia cemetery fund.
