Barbara Spitz (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Barbara Jean Spitz passed away on June 14, 2018 at 6:15 PM.
She was born March 18, 1932 in Cedar County, Missouri, the
thirteenth and youngest child of Allen Dickerson Wallen and
Ova Mae Akins Wallen. In her youth she became a member of
the Oak Grove Baptist Church northwest of Masters and was
later a member of the Spring Valley Baptist Church near Violet
northeast of Bolivar.
She was united in marriage with Harold Eugene Spitz of Bolivar
on December 23, 1950. They had four children: Anita Spitz,
James Spitz, and Debbie Spitz, all of Bolivar, and Joseph Spitz
and wife Kathie of Oklahoma City.
Barbara is survived by all of her children and her grandchildren,
Amanda, Bethany, and Delaney Spitz, all of Oklahoma City, and
sisters Lois Allred of Greenfield and Doris Swabby of Neosho,
and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her husband Harold in 2002, her parents,
and siblings: Clyde, Geneva Moore, Genetta Rowland, Gilbert,
Gerald, Paul, Carl, George, Frank, and Billy.
She loved planting and tending her flower gardens to share with
passing neighbors and you should have seen them this spring.
She was also proud of her time spent working as a nurses' aide
at the Bolivar Nursing Home.
