Beatrice Viva Price (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Beatrice Viva Price, age 89, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 21, 2013 at a care facility in Bolivar.
Beatrice was born in Fair Play, Missouri on July 16, 1923 to Ellis E. and Lillian B. Griffin Utterback. She grew up and attended school there. She was a member of the Fair Play Methodist Church and was baptized at an early age. She married her husband, Eldon O. Price, on November 23, 1941. They remained in the Polk County area for the rest of their lives. Eldon passed on May 26, 1973. Beatrice was a member of the Royal Neighbors, and the Council of the Blind. She also volunteered at the Mashburn Children’s Home for over 25 years where she was affectionately known as ‘Grandma Bea’. When not volunteering she enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking new recipes, but most of all, spending time with her family.
She is survived by; her grandson, Kerry Price and his wife Julie, of Bolivar, Mo; One brother, Norman F. Utterback and his wife, Iola, of Springfield, MO; One sister-in-law, Wilma Price, of New Mexico; Six nephews, and Five nieces.
She is preceded in death by; her parents, Ellis and Lillie Utterback; her husband, Eldon Price; Daughter, C. Nadine Price; three brothers, Leon Utterback, William Utterback and wife Dorothy, and Eldon Utterback.
No formal visitation will be held, but public viewing will be on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
