Ben H. Morgan (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Ben H. Morgan, age 59 of Marshfield, Missouri, passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2012.
He was born to Jane (Beezley) Morgan and Herb Morgan in Springfield, Missouri October 22, 1952.
Ben spent the early part of his life in Bolivar, Missouri. He and his family moved to Ozark, Missouri, where Ben graduated from Ozark High School. He then attended the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville.
Ben's career in banking began in Marshfield, Missouri, when he joined Citizens State Bank in 1975. In 1997 Ben chartered Southern Missouri Bank of Marshfield where he served as President/CEO at the time of his death. Ben was a member of many statewide banking organizations. As an active member of his community, Ben was a member of the Marshfield United Methodist Church, and was a founding member of the Marshfield Development League. Ben had also served as president of the Marshfield Chamber of Commerce and in the past had been named Marshfield's Businessman of the Year. Ben was caring, self-less, and a friend to many. He was a great son, and the best father anyone could ask for.
He was preceded in death by his father Herb Morgan.
Ben is survived by his mother Jane Morgan, Marshfield, Missouri, son Andrew Morgan, and daughter in-law Kala Morgan of Nixa, Missouri.
A Memorial service will be held at the Marshfield United Methodist Church on Monday January 16, 2012 at 7:00p.m. with Rev. Gary Griffin officiating.
Funeral services will be held at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri, Tuesday January 17, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Gary Griffin officiating with burial following at Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the care and direction of the Butler Funeral Home of Bolivar.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
