Bennie Jo Fisher (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Bennie Joan Alley Fisher, 92 years, 5 months, 2 days, passed away peacefully September 12, 2025, in Bolivar, Missouri. Bennie Jo was born on March 10, 1933, in Springfield, Missouri. She was the only child of Coral and Eva (Gorden) Alley. Bennie grew up on a farm in Pleasant Hope where she graduated high school in 1950. Bennie married Kenneth Fisher in December of 1950, and three children were born of this union. She attended the Pleasant Hope Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School as her children were growing up. Bennie Jo was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Kenneth, her daughter, Coral Ann, and her parents. Bennie Jo is survived by her son, James, and wife, Rhonda, and her daughter, Crystal. Grandchildren: Shar, Alicia, Shane, Kali Jo and her husband, Jeremy, Nicole, and Eli. Great grandchildren: Dalton (Kendall), Walker (Shaye), Kolton, Hayden, Trenton, Trey, Krayton, Chloe, Kinley, Kanton, Max, Madi, Evie Jo, Greyson, Isaiah (Tiffany) and Joshua; along with 6 great-great-grandchildren. Bennie Jo was a kindhearted and generous mother and grandmother, whose driving force was her faith and her family. She spent her life enjoying her favorite hobbies: oil painting, ceramics, water skiing and tending to her flower beds. With a love of sports, Bennie could regularly be found on the sidelines of sporting events. Throughout her life Bennie Jo fostered a positive outlook even on the hardest days. Visitation for Bennie Jo will be held Monday, September 15, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri, with the graveside service the following day, September 16, at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at Pleasant Hope Cemetery. Bennie Jo was strong in her faith and was known for her generosity towards her community. The family asks that in lieu of flowers please honor Bennie Jo with a donation toward the expansion project at The Heights Church by making a Legacy offering.
