Bernerd "Bump" Sawyers' Obituary
Bernerd Dean “Bump” Sawyers, son of Norman Celia and Mavis Nadine Cook Sawyers, was born June 5, 1960 in Marshfield, Missouri. He departed this life Thursday, March 31, 2016 in Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri, at the age of fifty-five years, nine months, and twenty-six days.
Bump was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Charles and Donald Sawyers; two nieces, Denise Sawyers and Abigail Nelson; and a nephew, Bryson Coffman.
He is survived by his daughters, Tangie Kish and husband Kevin, of Lamar, Missouri, Tasha Sawyers. of Lamar, Missouri, and Shala Williams, of Mansfield, Missouri; his grandchildren, Jabez Cummings, Marisha Cummings, Baylie Kish, Logan Kish, Libby Sawyers, Weston Williams, Shaylin Williams, and Raven Williams; his siblings, Vernon Sawyers and wife Sharon, of Hartville, Missouri, Norman Sawyers and wife Judy, of Hartville, Missouri, Virgie Davis and husband Pete, of Springfield, Missouri, Elizabeth Jones and husband Tom, of Mansfield, Missouri, Ronnie Sawyers and wife Della, of Hartville, Missouri, Roger Sawyers and wife Marlene, of Seymour, Missouri, Vickie Benson and husband Ronnie, of Seymour, Missouri, and Verdon Sawyers and wife Joy, of Hartville, Missouri; numerous nieces, nephews, as well as a host of other relatives and many friends.
Bump was born in Marshfield and spent the majority of his life in the Hartville area. He had accepted Christ as his Savior at an early age. He loved to read his bible and enjoyed speaking to others about God.
In his spare time, he enjoyed junking, and wheeling and dealing. He had a knack for fixing anything that was broken, from lawn mowers to automobiles; he was truly a jack of all trades.
Bump was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories he has created for his family and many dear friends.
