Bernice Opal Borsody (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Bernice Opal Borsody, daughter of Loyd Francis and Ola Mae Waterman Bryant, was born April 3, 1920, near Eldridge, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, August 23, 2013, in Christian Health and Rehabilitation Center South, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, four months, and twenty days.
On April 25, 1977, she was united in marriage to Ferenc Borsody, and they shared twenty-six years before his passing on January 12, 2004.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Helena Wanger.
Bernice is survived by a daughter, Peggy Sue Moore, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Cleo Glen Crabtree, Jr., and his wife, Barbara, of Lebanon, Missouri; three grandsons, David Glen Moore, and his wife, Jackie, of Camdenton, Missouri, Richard E. Crabtree, and his wife, Kyra, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Robert L. Moore, and his wife, Kathy, of Raymore, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Nicholas Crabtree, and his wife, Cambria, Natalie Oursbourn, and her husband, Chris, Faith Moore, Amanda Moore, Bethany Moore, and Matthew Moore; six great-great-grandchildren, Beckham Crabtree, Archer Crabtree, Ansley Oursbourn, Wyatt Jenkins, Luke Jenkins, and Ian David Moore; a brother Dennis Richard Bryant, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters, Lucille Mosier, of Lebanon, Missouri, and Wanda Berry, of Eldridge, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Eldridge community. She worked as a seamstress at the Rice Stix Factory in Lebanon for a few years, and then moved to Kansas City, Missouri when she was a young lady. Bernice was a devoted homemaker and loving mother to her children and also worked for the H. D. Lee Company in Kansas City for a few years. She was employed at a Sears Catalog Store in Kansas City for eighteen years. Shortly after she and Ferenc were married, they moved to Lebanon and enjoyed their retirement years.
Bernice was raised in the Eldridge Full Gospel Church and then was a member of First Baptist Church in Kansas City. After moving to Lebanon, she transferred her membership to First Baptist Church of Lebanon.
In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, gardening, and caring for her home and lawn. Her family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
Bernice was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout her long life.
A memorial to the Hufft Cemetery Perpetual Care Fund has been established and contributions may be made through the funeral home.
