Bernice G Manier (Hartville)'s Obituary
Bernice G. Manier, life-long Hartville resident and daughter of Henry and Fannie Mae Lee, Jr., departed this life Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Hartville Care Center at the age of ninety-five years and fourteen days.
One of ten children, she was born Bernice Georgia Lee on October 16, 1919, in Hartville, Missouri to Henry Lee, Sr. and Fannie Mae (Bell) Lee. She married Cecil Howard Manier on November 24, 1939, and they were married for fifty-four years until his passing on October 23, 1994. She was a devout Christian and attended Hartville Church of God in Christ until her health began to fail. Bernice truly enjoyed her garden and cooking. She and Cecil were employed as custodians at Hartville School for a number of years.
In addition to her parents, Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Manier; two step-grandsons, Jimmie and Hershal Bailey; seven sisters, Elnora, Frances, Lena, Willie, Audrey, Jewell and Maxine; and two brothers, Henry Jr. and Levi; and a very special nephew, Edward Manier.
Bernice leaves behind three step-grandsons; two step-granddaughters; special niece, Juanita Kaye, and special nephew, Cliff Warren; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and extended family; and special nurse and companion, Payree Short. Bernice’s family wishes to sincerely thank the staff at Hartville Care Center for the wonderful care she’d be given during her time there.
Bernice was a loving wife, sister, aunt and step-grandmother who cherished family. Her ninety-five years on this earth created moments and memories for loved ones that will be forever treasured in their hearts.
