Bertha Roweton's Obituary
Mrs. Bertha Lorene Roweton, age 94, of Halfway, departed this life Wednesday morning, March 23, 2011 at Parkview Healthcare Facility in Bolivar, Missouri after a long illness.
Bertha was born December 10, 1916 in Halfway, Missouri to Hershel Ragsdale and Erlinda (Jones) Ragsdale. She graduated from Halfway High School, the class of 1935. She was saved at the age of 12 and was a member of the Halfway Missionary Baptist Church.
On December 24, 1938 she married Clifford Andrew Roweton in Polk County, Missouri. Bertha was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, quilting and attending church whenever possible. She so much loved to be around her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; Clifford, her parents, and six siblings.
Bertha is survived by her two daughters; Gloria Roweton of Wentzville, Missouri, Linda Francka and her husband Dale of Springfield, Missouri, four granddaughters and their husbands; Christa and Lou Lairmore, Leigh Anne and Dan Scott, Melinda and Jeff May, Terri and Ryan Schaffitzel, ten great-grandchildren; Brooke, Bart, Tanner, Payton, Carson, Brant, Calleigh, Brock, Riley and Camryn, one sister-in-law; Berma Taylor, and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends.
Funeral services will be at 3:30pm Sunday afternoon, March 27, 2011 at the Butler Funeral Home in Bolivar, Missouri with Elder DeWayne Burdette officiating. Musical selections will be ?Amazing Grace?, ?Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus? and ?In The Garden? being sung by Christa Lairmore. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Bolivar, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 2:30-3:30pm Sunday just prior to service time at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Bart Lairmore, Lou Lairmore, Jeffrey May, Tanner May, Carson Scott, Daniel Scott, Brant Schaffitzel, Brock Schaffitzel, and Ryan Schaffitzel.
