Bertha Salsman's Obituary
Bertha Lucinda Woolsey Salsman, daughter of George William and Mary Wilson Woolsey, was born November 27, 1914, in Mountain Grove, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, November 17, 2008, in Lake Regional Hospital, Osage Beach, Missouri, at the age of ninety-three years, eleven months and twenty-two days. On December 19, 1947, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, she was united in marriage to Jesse George Salsman and to this union three children were born. Together they shared twenty-six years until his passing on August 7, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Edna Woolsey, who passed away in 1914; an infant sister, Bernice Woolsey, who passed away at seven months old; and a brother, Berl Woolsey, who passed away on February 27, 1982. Survivors include a son, William Wayne Salsman and his wife, Sharon, of Temecula, California; two daughters, Mary Ann Huber and her husband, Phillip R., and Kay Brown and her husband, Larry D., all of Linn Creek, Missouri; six grandsons, Aaron Wayne Salsman and his wife, Sandra, of Linn Creek, Missouri, John Gabriel Huber and his wife, Amy, of Trenton, Missouri, William Gregory Huber and his wife, Kris Ann, of Kansas City, Kansas, Nathan Lee Huber of Macks Creek, Missouri, Glendon Lee Brown of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Marc Allen Brown and his wife, Alicia, of Montreal, Missouri; a granddaughter, Amiee Jo Salsman of Temecula, California; six great-grandsons, Austin, Niki, and Jesse Salsman of Linn Creek, Missouri, Dolan, Jesse and Jack Huber of Trenton, Missouri; two great-granddaughters, Shelly Catherine Huber of Kansas City, Kansas, and Leila Brown of Montreal, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bertha was raised in Ava, Missouri, where she attended school. She taught school for one year in Ava. She then worked with her father and uncles on the family farm. After her marriage to Jesse, they made their home in Linn Creek, Missouri. She made a profession of faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of Linn Creek Baptist Church, where she served as Sunday School Teacher in the Women’s Class for many years. In her spare time, Bertha loved to read. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bertha was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. She created many wonderful memories for her family and friends to cherish forever. Services will be held at 10:00 am Friday November 21, 2008 at the Linn Creek Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Freedom Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday Evening 5-7:00 pm at the funeral home under the direction of the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home of Camdenton,Missouri.
