Bessie Marie Mercer of Seymour, Missouri, passed away Wednesday August 9, 2017 in her home at the age of 99 years, 4 months and 8 days. She was the seventh of ten children, born April 1, 1918 in Sweden, Douglas County, Missouri to Read Obituary
I thought I was the luckiest girl in the world because I had three grandmothers, Grandma Goldie, Grandma Erma and my Grandma Bessie. I loved listening to the stories that Dad, Bessie and Grandma would tell of living in the Ozarks so long ago. We had many adventures and so much fun meeting people throughout the area looking for our ancestors especially Nancy Jane Strong. I think of these adventures often and know why many like Bessie, Wanda, Lynn and my own Father, Laurel, always wanted to come back to Missouri and some were lucky to go back. It is home. Now, my heart is heavy but I know my Grandmother Bessie is at peace and with a greater and more wonderful power then we could ever imagine. My thoughts and prayers are with my wonderful family throughout the country. God Bless with lots of love from my Dad's family in Ohio and Florida.
