Bethene Schwab (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Helen Bethene Schwab, daughter of Verner and Lois Harrington Ford, was born, September 18 1924 in Guthrie Center, Iowa. She departed this life, Thursday August 14, 2014, in Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation, Warsaw, Missouri at the age of eighty-nine years, ten months and twenty-seven days.
On September 5, 1945, she was united in marriage to Hubert Arnold Schwab. Together they shared fifty-three years of marriage before his passing on February 2, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Leonard Ford.
Survivors include a son, Randy Harlan and wife Janet of Buena Vista, Georgis; grandchildren, Scott Grotz and wife Catherine and Cindy Grotz all of Warsaw, Missouri, Matthew Harlan of Buena Vista, Georgia; Justin Harlan of Jefferson City, Missouri and Randall Dee Harlan of Independence, Missouri; great-grandchildren, Lyssa, Bethenee and Haven; a brother, Hap Ford of Jefferson, Iowa and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Bethene was raised in Iowa after her marriage; they moved to Leadville, Colorado and later moved to Warsaw, Missouri. They retired to Climax Springs, Missouri and soon returned to Warsaw.
She made a profession of faith and was a member of Warsaw Christian Church.
Bethene was an animal lover and always supported the humane society. She enjoyed fishing and looked forward to her annual fishing trip with her grandson. Most of all, she loved spending times with her family.
She was a loving mother, grandmother sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
Memorial donations may be made to Brotherhood For Children and left at the funeral home.
