Birth date: Aug 22, 1957 Death date: Feb 24, 2017
Mary Elizabeth “Betsy” Finley, daughter of Oliver W. “Bill” and Bobbye Jo Smith Hubbs, was born August 22, 1957, in Chicago, Illinois. She departed this life Friday, February 24, 2017, in Barnes Jewish Hospital, in St. Louis, Miss Read Obituary

My fondest memory of Betsy was back in the early 80's when I was teaching the college and career Sunday School Class at the Independent Baptist Church in Clinton Maryland. My wife and I took the class on a trip to hear a stringed quartet in Washington D.C. Betsy sat on the far end of the row opposite me. Mid way through a note was passed to me telling me to look over at Betsy who was holding up the keys to the church van. The note went on to say everyone was bored and were leaving and if Diane and I wanted a ride home we could go too. That was the Betsy I remember. Oh, the van ran out of gas on the way back to Clinton.
I am so thankful for the impact that Mrs. Finley has made in my daughter. Prayers and love from our family to yours.
To Wayne and the family:
First, I want to apologize for not being included in the video that was made for you on Friday. I have worked with Betsy, for the eleven years she has been here at Conway Schools. This has all happened so quickly, it is still difficult for me to believe she has passed. I am not able to speak about Betsy, without crying and getting upset, so I opted out of the video.
We have had a lot of good times here at school. We've laughed together and worried (about students) together, but I always enjoyed spending time with Betsy. She was an excellent, Christian example for both students and staff. Her sweet personality and wry sense of humor will be missed. My prayers are for all of you, who must now go on with life. She loved you all so very much and was so proud of each one of you.
May God's grace and peace be with you,
Sandy Day

She was a wonderful person and great teacher. I know she will be terribly missed by her students, co-workers, friends, and family! Praying for healing for all!

Dear Wayne and family, please accept our condolences. Betsy is a beautiful soul and we were privileged to know and love her. You are in our prayers and thoughts. John and Jo Young, Franklin, Indiana.

She was one of the best teachers that Conway had. My 3 older kids could never say enough about her and still talk about what an awesome person she was. She made learning enjoyable and memorable. I always loved being a sub in her class from time to time since the kids knew to behave. Love you Mrs. Finley and enjoy heaven!
I only knew Mrs. Finley as a substitute teacher, but I can tell you she was a wonderful, Christian example for the students as well as her fellow teachers. I greatly admired her work ethic and dedication to the students. We will keep your family in our prayers.
