Bettie Mae Goodman (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Bettie Mae Goodman, daughter of Joe Benson and Leta Mae Johns Fitzgerald, was born December 25, 1932 in Boonesboro, Missouri. She departed this life Wednesday, July 6, 2011 in Lakeside Meadows in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-eight years, six months, and eleven days.
On April 16, 1960, Bettie was united in marriage to Charles Goodman, Jr. and together they shared forty-eight years until Charles’ passing on September 5, 2008.
Bettie was also preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, J.B., John Richard, and Kenny Fitzgerald.
She is survived by her son, Everett Goodman III, and wife Clarissa of Camdenton, Missouri; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Ashley, and Brandon Goodman; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Bettie spent her younger years in the Fayette, Missouri area and was a graduate of Fayette High School. Following graduation, Bettie lived in Kansas City, Missouri, where she met and married Charles. They spent time living in Buffalo, Missouri before moving to Macks Creek, making their home there for over thirty years.
Bettie was a care giver at heart. She took care of her mother, brother, and mother-in-law in their time of need, ensuring that they received the best care she could give them.
She was a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church in Branch, Missouri and worked there when needed.
She also spent time working for Meals on Wheels in Buffalo, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post in Buffalo.
In her earlier years, Bettie enjoyed taking care of her garden and fishing. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who were the loves of her life.
Bettie was a loving mother and grandmother, and we celebrate her life and her many accomplishments. The memories we have of her will live on forever in our hearts.
