Betty J Anderson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Jo Anderson, daughter of Horace and Betty Simmons Wallace, was born May 14, 1927, in Mineral Wells, Texas. She departed this life Monday, August 5, 2013, in her home, near Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-six years, two months, and twenty-one days.
In 1959, she was united in marriage to Gail C. “Andy” Anderson, who preceded her in death.
Her parents also preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by two daughters, Sharon Vance, of Waco, Texas, and Peggy Lee, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; two sons, Russell Pool, and Mark Pool, both of Fort Walton, Beach, Florida; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard Wallace, of Camdenton, Missouri; four sisters, Mary Beech, of Shreveport, Louisiana, Sue Betros, of Waco, Texas, Helen Atkins, of Houston, Texas, and Okie Wallace, of Waco, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Waco, Texas area, where she graduated from high school. She then lived in Valley Mills, Texas, and was a devoted homemaker to her family. For several years she traveled to different places with her husband who was serving in the United States Air Force. About twenty-five years ago, she retired to the Lebanon, Missouri area.
Betty followed the Methodist faith throughout her life.
In her spare time she enjoyed cooking, collecting antiques, and playing games, especially Bridge. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her siblings.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
