Betty Atkinson (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Betty Rae (Root) Atkinson, age 79, of Springfield, Missouri passed away on Sunday, August 29, 2010 at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.
She was born December 1, 1930 in Bolivar, Missouri to Henry Dutton Root and Ruth (Wilson) Root.
Betty worked for the Zenith Corporation and Interpac in Springfield, Missouri for 30 years prior to her retirement in 1992.
She loved her family and enjoyed crocheting. She was proceeded in death by her parents, two sisters, Mildred Gifford, Lynnie Mae Root and a brother, Donald Root.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Kelley Stokes McCoy of Fair Play, Missouri, two sons, Dennis Keith Stokes and Kenneth Dale Stokes both of Springfield, Missouri, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Per Betty’s wishes she will be cremated and no services will be held.
