Betty Jo Bailey (Seymour)'s Obituary
Funeral arrangements are set for Mrs. Betty Jo (Johnson) Bailey, wife of Alvin J. Bailey, for Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 11 a.m., at Holman-Howe Funeral Home in Seymour, Missouri. Betty Jo departed this life Sunday afternoon, November 11, 2018, at her home in Seymour. She was born one of eight children in rural Seymour on March 5, 1931, to Leonard W. and Edna (Good) Carpenter. The Baileys had previously lived in Olathe, Kansas, and moved back to the area in the last year. Betty Jo is survived by her husband, Alvin; her daughter, Joyce Napier of Wright County; son, Herman and Susie Johnson, of Seymour; six stepchildren; five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; her brother, Larry and Dee Carpenter of Wichita, Kansas; brother-in-law, Dale and Stephanie Bailey, and sister-in-law, Teresa and David Todd – all of Seymour; and sister-in-law, Faye Johnson of Cedar Gap, Missouri. Betty Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Sherman Johnson, and her granddaughter, JoLynn Kay Napier. Visitation will be Friday, November 16, 2018, from 6:30 p.m.to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial in Antioch Cemetery will follow Saturday’s service.
