Betty L. Burwell (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Burwell, daughter of William and Ruth McCamey Carson, was born November 5, 1924, in Marysville, Ohio.  She departed this life Monday, March 22, 2021, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety-six years, four months, and seventeen days.
On January 17, 1940, she was united in marriage to Donald Reed Burwell and to this union four sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of seventy-three years, Donald, in January of 2013; two sons, Joel Eugene Burwell and Donald Raymond Burwell; a great-grandson, Taryn Tindle; a brother, Robert R. Carson; and a sister, Mary Carson Dellinger.
Betty is survived by two sons, John Lawrence Burwell, and his wife, Helen, of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Steven Lester Burrell, and his wife, Vera, of Lebanon, Missouri; two daughters-in-law, Phyllis Dellinger Burwell, of Plain City, Ohio, and Helen (Reagan) Burwell, of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; a special daughter, Peggy Isgrigg, of Rolla, Missouri; four granddaughters, Cindy Mitchell, Deena Schofield, Beth Tindle, and Jodi Taylor; four grandsons, Jeffrey Burwell, John R. Burwell, Chad Burwell, and Donald Randolph Burwell; fifteen great-grandchildren, Samantha and Matthew Mitchell, Joseph and Justin Scholfield, Shelby and Jeshua Burwell, Kelton and Eilish Tindle, Johnny Burwell, Jr., Anthony Burwell, Brianna, Brittany, and Colton Taylor, Julie Ann and Samantha Burwell; a number of great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Betty was born and raised in Ohio, and after she and Donald were married, they farmed in London, Ohio for several years.  In 1962, the family moved to their farm near Falcon, Missouri and made their home.  Through the years, Betty was a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.  In 1967, she and Donald moved closer to Lebanon.
Early in her life, Betty followed the Methodist faith.
In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting and spending time with her family.  She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her ninety-six years.
Funeral services for Betty Burwell will be Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at Mount Rose Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home at their convenience to pay their respects.
