Betty Lou Campe (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Lou Campe, daughter of James William and Edith M. Higgins Burton, was born January 24, 1932, in Seattle, Washington. She departed this life Wednesday, April 23, 2014, in her daughter's home, near Grovespring, Missouri, at the age of eighty-two years, two months, and twenty-nine days.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Barbee; a brother, Jim; and two sisters, Sally, and Edie;
Betty is survived by three daughters, Debbie Nelson, and her husband, Steve, of Grovespring, Missouri, Terri Barbee, of the State of Oregon, and Joyce Koenig, of the State of Washington; three sons, Bill Barbee, Jr., Ron Barbee, both of the State of Oregon, and Brad Cline, of Lebanon, Missouri; seven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Seattle, Washington, and graduated from high school there. She lived most of her life in the State of Washington where in addition to being a devoted homemaker to her family, she worked for Boeing Aircraft for several years. After moving to Missouri, she made her home in the Ava community. She was employed by the H. D. Lee Company in Hartville, the Mansfield Hospital, in Mansfield, Missouri, and then worked for Mansfield Steel. In her later years, she raised registered dogs.
She had an appreciation for nature and loved growing beautiful flowers and feeding and watching hummingbirds. She loved her family dearly and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that she will be fondly remembered and greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
