Betty Daniels (Humansville)'s Obituary
Betty Daniels, 87, Humansville, MO, passed away Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Northwood Hills Care Center in Humansville, MO.
Betty June Houk Daniels was born on June 14, 1931, to Russell and Beaulah (Burchett) Houk, the oldest of six children. She was saved in January, 1944, and joined Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, where she remained a member until her passing. In 1948, she left her parents home and went to Springfield, MO, to gain her teaching degree, and took her first teaching job at High Point in a one room school house located between Humansville, MO, and Stockton, MO. In 1949, she married John David (Junior) Daniels, and to this union five children were born.
Betty is survived by her children; Linda Lucille and her husband Dave Guinn of St. Louis, MO, Robert Wayne and his wife Margie Daniels of Eagan, MN, Darrell Gene and his wife Theresa Daniels of Bolivar, MO, Carol Sue Marsh of Springfield, MO and Darla Renee Dybdall of Humansville, MO, one sister Helen Lucille Daniels of Stockton, MO, two brothers James Darrell Houk and his wife Mary of Bolivar, MO and Roy Lee Houk and his wife Sharlene of Stockton, MO, a brother-in- law Bill Jones of Odessa, MO and two sisters-in-law Carol Jean Daniels of Stockton, MO, and Esther Houk of Paola, KS, 10 Grandchildren, 19 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Great-Great-Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Doyle Dennis Houk, a sister, Sharon Kay Jones, two brothers-in-law, Denton Daniels and Quinten Daniels.
Betty was many things to many people. She had many jobs and many titles, some of which were school nurse, school secretary, substitute teacher and school bus driver. One of her favorite jobs as taking money at ballgames. She loved nature, especially birds and trees. She loved bird watching, and people watching.
She will be remembered by most people for her donuts at Halloween.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 PM, on Tuesday, September 10, 2018, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Humansville.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM, on Wednesday, September 11, 2018, at the Butler Funeral Home, in Humansville, with burial to follow at Alder Cemetery, near Stockton.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Fairview Missionary Baptist Church, or the Northwood Hills Care Center Activity Fund.
