Betty Goswick's Obituary
Betty Jean Goswick, daughter of Clarence Ebon and Theo Rachel (Hoffman) MaHaffey, was born August 20, 1932, in Marion, Ohio. She departed this life Sunday, September 12, 2010, in Hartville Care Center, in Hartville, Missouri, at the age of seventy-eight years and twenty-two days.
On August 26, 1966, she was united in marriage to Donald Gene Goswick, and they have shared the last forty-four years together.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Lester Mahaffey; and a sister, Phyllis Jaynes.
Betty is survived by her husband, Donald, of the home; children, Melissa Ann Robertson, Kenneth Goswick, and Donna Valleao, all of the State of California, and Wava Jean Johnson, of the State of Colorado; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen Cantrell, of the State of Michigan; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in Ohio and later moved to California where she met and married Don. In 1990 they moved to the Grovespring area, where they have made their home since.
Betty had professed her faith in Christ and attended the Elk Creek Baptist Church, where she enjoyed her church fellowship.
Over the years she had driven a school bus for the Lebanon and the Grovespring Schools. She was a member of the Grovespring Topps and the Red Hat Club. In her spare time she greatly enjoyed riding her motorcycle and taking trips on it.
Betty was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created. She will be fondly remembered and greatly missed and will live on in our hearts forever.
