Betty Jean Johnson (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Jean Johnson was born January 31, 1949 to William Everette Phillips and Erma Jean Whiteside Phillips in Marion, Indiana. She passed away in her home in Lebanon, Missouri on Saturday, December 16, 2023. She was seventy-four years, ten months and sixteen days of age at the time of her passing.
Early in her life, Betty Jean moved with her family to Lebanon, Missouri and graduated from Lebanon High School. On October 1, 1966, Betty Jean was united in marriage to Charles LaVerne Johnson and to this union, five children were born. They shared over forty-eight years of marriage before Charles passed away on May 1, 2015.
Betty Jean enjoyed being a wife and mother and taking care of her home. She was a longtime Nanny and caregiver to two special boys, Alex and Aaron Baker. She loved them and enjoyed caring for them and watching them grow up.
She enjoyed looking at and collecting antiques. She appreciated their history and had several that had special meaning to her. She also liked to play the lottery.
In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Betty Jean is survived by her son, James Johnson of Lebanon, Missouri; four daughters, Regina Williams and her husband, Eric, Felicia Hicks and her husband, Ed Green, Erica Johnson and her partner, Kevin Ruble and Jessica Johnson, all of Lebanon, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and special friends, Alex and Aaron Baker and Donna Drew.
Betty Jean loved her family so much and she especially looked forward to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They brought her so much joy and she was great to play with them and read to them.
She had an exceptional sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. Her loss is deeply felt by her family and she will be so missed. We know that she will live on in the memories she created with them and the love she had for them.
A memorial has been established to Claws & Paws and donations may be made through the funeral home.
