Betty Kees (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty L. Kees was born March 10, 1950 in Montevideo, Minnesota to her parents, William Grussing and Jennifer Nieuwbeerta Grussing. She passed away in her home in Lebanon, Missouri on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the age of seventy-four years, five months and fourteen days.
When Betty was a young girl, she moved with her family to Wisconsin where she would graduate from Lacrosse High School. Following graduation, she started a family of her own and they moved to Prescott, Wisconsin. She earned her Associates degree and in 1990, moved to Hastings, Minnesota. She was employed at a Half Way House and later for Blue Cross/Blue Shield.
In 2009, Betty met Curtis Kees and following their marriage, returned to Wisconsin. Following their retirement, they purchased a Recreational Vehicle (RV) and traveled thousands of miles together, taking in the sights and sounds and creating lifelong memories. In 2024, they pulled off the road and made their home in Lebanon.
Betty is survived by her husband, Curtis Kees of the home; her daughters, Rachael Seelig and her husband Mike and Angela Luoma and her husband Brett; her son, Sean Smith and his wife Tammy; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter Jaidyn Andrus; and her brothers and sisters.
Betty was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was always there for her kids. She loved gardening, going fishing, and watching and feeding the hummingbirds.
Throughout her life, Betty was known for her unwavering dedication to her family, embodying the roles of a loving mother and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home was a haven of warmth, love and laughter, where countless memories were created and treasured.
