Betty G. Kinnett (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Glee Kinnett was born August 24, 1933, near Oakland, Missouri, to Ferd Broyles and Belle O’Quinn Broyles. She passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2026, in WEBCO Manor in Marshfield, Missouri. She was ninety-two years, seven months and twenty-four days of age.
Betty grew up in the Oakland area and attended Hazel Dell Grade School. She graduated from Lebanon High School in the class of 1951. Following high school, Betty graduated from Riveria Beauty School and opened up Betty’s Home Beauty Shop, where customers became family. In 1984, she founded Hairtage Beauty College and taught hundreds of individuals the art of cutting, coloring and styling hair.
On September 4, 1954, Betty was united in marriage to the love of her life, Thomas G. Kinnett. They shared many wonderful memories while raising their three children.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Ferd and Belle; her husband, Tom, who passed away June 10, 1988; and her brother, James “Russell” Broyles.
She is survived by two sons, Dwight Kinnett and his wife Glennie and Doug Kinnett and his wife Marty, all of Lebanon, Missouri; her daughter, Teresa Inman and husband George of Lebanon, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Thomas and his wife Summer, Michelle and her husband John, Timothy and his wife Stacia, James and his wife Kristen, Sara and her husband Shawn, Grant and his wife Jennifer, Jami and her husband Clint, and RJ and his wife Gabby; eighteen great-grandchildren, Cody, Grace, Ian, John Jr., Shannon, Shelby, Zander, Anna, Penny, Samuel, Katherine, Trevor, Willis, Jake, Trent, Lola, Gabriel, and Sierra; and other relatives and many friends who will truly miss her.
While growing up in the Oakland Community, Betty attended Happy Hill Freewill Baptist Church with her family. It was there she accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was baptized. When she moved to Lebanon, Betty joined the First Christian Church where she served and grew her faith in God. She was also a member of the Women’s Circle Bible Study group at the church. She was a lifelong member of the Women’s Progressive Farmers Association (WPFA).
She was a member of the Red Hat Society, enjoyed cake decorating, creating beautiful flower arrangements and was very accomplished at painting. She was a very patriotic lady and was looking forward to the 250th anniversary of our great nation.
We remember and honor the life of a devoted wife, beloved mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother, whose love, faith and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She was a hard worker and lived her life with grace and purpose. Above all, her greatest joy came from being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Her legacy of faith, family, and love will continue to live on through the lives she touched.
Funeral services for Betty G. Kinnett will be Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, April 21, from 5 - 7 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will be in Hough Chapel Cemetery.
A memorial to Shepherd's Pack has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home. Checks need to be made payable to First Christian Church. This program provides food for children after school.
