Betty L. Pipes' Obituary
Elizabeth Lorraine “Betty” Pipes, daughter of Ezra and Nettie Watson Greenstreet, was born June 10, 1929 in Winigan, Missouri. She departed this life Sunday, May 28, 2006 in Lake Regional Health Systems in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of seventy-six years, eleven months and eighteen days. She was united in marriage to Earl Pipes, who preceded her in death in 1981. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Lacetia Carol Mulinx; and a grandson, Roger Lynn Sewell. Betty is survived by a son, Harold Lloyd Pipes, and his wife, Charlotte, of Elizabeth City, North Carolina; two daughters, Janet Victoria Eiler, of Moyock, North Carolina, and Linda Lee Bland, and her husband, Herb, of Camdenton, Missouri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Bill Greenstreet, of Post Falls, Idaho; and special friends, Carl and Jan Tidgren, Jo Beth and Peanut; as well as a host of other relatives and friends. She grew up in the Winigan, Missouri area. After high school she received her nursing degree in Iowa and worked in Laughlin Hospital, Kirksville, Missouri for twenty-two years. She then moved to the Lake area and became the manager of the Flame Resort where she retired after thirty-eight years of service. In her spare time, Betty enjoyed bird watching, especially the eagles in the area. She was a hard worker throughout her life and enjoyed her family and spending time with friends. Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Her memory will be cherished in our hearts and she will be missed greatly. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 5, 2006, in LaPlata Cemetery, LaPlata, Missouri. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 1, 2006, in the Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri. Services are under the direction of Allee-Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Camdenton, Missouri.
