Betty Lou Long (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Betty Lou Long, daughter of James and Edith Tombs Shivers, was born, September 8, 1930 in Camden County, Missouri. She departed this life, Wednesday, March 11, 2015, in Richland Care Center, Richland, Missouri at the age of eighty-four years, six months and three days.
On May 7, 1949 in Richland, Missouri she was united in marriage to Harold Leo Long and to this union one son was born.
Together they shared sixty years of marriage before his passing on March 9, 2010.She was also preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Warren Shivers, Fern Long, Beulah Jones, Eunice Barber, Claudine Bridgeforth and Calvin Shivers.
Survivors include her son, Dennis Long of Montreal, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Burley Shivers and Mattie Long both of Montreal Missouri and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Betty was a life-long resident of Camden County. She was a cook for the Camdenton School District for many years. She and her husband always ran a farm. Betty made a profession of faith and was a member of Beulah Baptist Church in Richland. In her spare time, she loved to do needle point of all kinds. She made many beautiful projects. She loved her church and was there helping as often as she could. She touched many lives and her memory will linger on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
