Betty Lou Lahm (Seymour)'s Obituary
Betty Lou Lahm, daughter of John Robert and Mary Letha (Huffman) Churchill, was born April 6, 1936, in Mansfield, Missouri; and she departed this life Saturday, September 11, 2010, in Rocky Ridge Manor in Mansfield, Missouri, at the age of seventy-four years, five months and six days.
On April 8, 1977, she was united in marriage to Charles “Chuck” David Lahm, Jr., and together they spent nine wonderful years before his passing on August 8, 1985. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ronnie, Billy Eugene, and Donnie Churchill; and two sisters, Shirley McCleary and Darlene Harrill.
Betty is survived by her children, Tammy Tracy and her husband, Kyle, Mike Helms and his wife, Debbie, and Jack Helms and his wife, Jenifer, all of Seymour, Missouri; two step-children, Charles David Lahm, III and his wife, Tywana of Marshfield, Missouri, and Charlotte Sartin and her husband, Chris, of Springfield, Missouri; twelve grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and dear friends.
She grew up in Mansfield, Missouri, and graduated from Mansfield High School in the Class of 1955. She and Chuck made their home in Seymour, Missouri, where he worked for the City of Seymour and she was a seamstress for the H.D. Lee Company. They were faithful members of the Seymour Lions Club and took part in all the club activities. She had attended several different churches in the Mansfield and Seymour areas throughout her life.
In her spare time Betty enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren playing in various sports. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and will cherish the wonderful memories she created for her family and many friends.
