Betty Lucille Hanks (Camdenton)'s Obituary
Betty Lucille Hanks, daughter of Arthur Lee and Eula Mae Bohanon Greathouse, was born January 28, 1935, in Marshfield, Missouri. She departed this life Monday, October 18, 2010, in her home, Camdenton, Missouri, at the age of seventy-five years, eight months and twenty days.
On October 4, 1950, in Camdenton, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Glen Daniel “Sonny” Hanks, Sr. and to this union three children were born. Together they shared over forty-seven years of marriage until his passing on May 12, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a son-in-law, Ray Jackson.
Survivors include her children, Glen Daniel Hanks, Jr. and his wife, Jo Sue, of Springfield, Missouri, Vicki Jackson of Camdenton, Missouri, and Larry Dale Hanks of Raytown, Missouri; seven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a brother, Ralph Webb and his wife, Libby, of Jefferson City, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and many friends.
Betty was raised in Camdenton and after her marriage to Sonny, they made their home in the Kansas City area where they lovingly raised their children. She spent most of her adult life in Kansas City where she worked at Russell Stover Candy factory, worked at a dry cleaners, and owned and operated Betty’s This and That. She retired to Camdenton in 1988 where she enjoyed helping her children at the Bargain Spot.
Betty made a profession of faith and was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Camdenton.
In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, miniature golf and crossword puzzles. She enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren, especially playing board games.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and her accomplishments and will treasure the memories she created for her family and friends.
