Betty Jean Minor (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Jean Minor, a wonderful and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025 in Lake Regional Medical Center in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of sixty nine years, two months and one day.
She was born November 25, 1955 in Lebanon, Missouri to John and Gladys Rogers Smith. She was raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon High School. She went on to earn her Associates degree.
She was employed at Dog & Suds and H.D. Lee before joining the team at Marathon Electric. She retired from Marathon in 2010.
Betty is survived by two sons, Sam Jones and his wife Sarah of Pleasant Hill, Missouri and Jody Jones and his wife Stephani of Lebanon, Missouri; her step-children, Kimberly Roan of Killeen, Texas, Philip Minor and his wife Jamie of Lebanon, Missouri, Kevin Minor and his wife Christina of Waynesville, Missouri, Jason Davis and his wife Kim of North Carolina, Beth Ann Carter of Florida; eighteen grandchildren, Layla, Tyler, Gabe, Blake, Kenslee, Bailey, Lleyton, Allister, Zachary, Keelie, Kirsten, Payton, Cory, Annie, Caden, Brooklyn, Maverick and Faith; and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Kyler, Lucas and Ryleigh; and two brothers, Dan and Kathy Smith of New Hampshire and John and Linda Smith of Liberty, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Gladys; her husbands, Sam Jones and Henry Minor; and her sister, Denise Scott.
Betty watched Family Church online faithfully.
She was a very loving and generous woman and would do anything for those she loved. She didn’t judge and accepted everyone on their own terms.
While many cannot say this, it is said that Betty enjoyed doing laundry. She also liked anything pertaining to Star Trek and watching Daniel Boone and other westerns on television.
Most of all, she loved being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life and she looked forward to being with them.
Betty will be so very missed by those who knew and loved her.
There will be a Celebration of Life visitation Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 1 – 3 p.m. at Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Lebanon Cemetery.
A memorial to Mercy Kids has been established and donations may be left at the funeral home.
