Betty Lou Rogers (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Lou Rogers, daughter of Everett F. and Della May Casteel Decker, was born February 23, 1936, near Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Friday, October 21, 2016, in her home, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty years, seven months, and twenty-eight days.
On April 10, 1956, she was united in marriage to Billy Joe Rogers, Sr., and to this union five daughters and three sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy, on December 18, 2000; three brothers, Chester, Bobby, and Kenneth Decker; and a sister, Carol Burgess.
Betty is survived by five daughters, Savannah Soliz, and her husband, Walter, of Carriere, Mississippi, Brenda Crouch, and her husband, Gary, Lisa Bond, Rita Terry, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Debbie Kasler, and her husband, Thomas, of Hulbert, Oklahoma; three sons, Allen Rogers, Billy Rogers, Jr., and his wife, Barbara, all of Lebanon, Missouri, and Christopher Rogers, and his wife, Tracy, of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; a brother, Donald Decker, and his wife, Carol, of Lebanon, Missouri; a sister, Gladys Hinsen, of Lebanon, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Mary Decker, and Lavenna Dyson, both of Lebanon, Missouri; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born and raised in the Lebanon area, and then lived in Indiana for a time. While in Indiana, she worked for a canning factory. After she and Billy were married, they made their home near Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. In addition to being a devoted homemaker to her husband and family, Betty also worked at a restaurant, and then later did in home health care for several years.
Betty followed the Pentecostal faith and was a dedicated minister’s wife. She assisted Billy in his ministry and was always very supportive.
She had a great love for music, and possessed a beautiful singing voice. She sang her entire life and was well known for her singing. She was an excellent cook and liked making special meals for her family. She had a delightful sense of humor and was full of joy and laughter. She always put others ahead of herself and enjoyed helping others. Her family was very dear to her and she especially enjoyed all of her grandchildren.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her eighty years.
