Betty Sue Smith (Bolivar)'s Obituary
Mrs. Betty Sue Smith, age 72, of Hermitage, Missouri passed away on Tuesday morning, July 3, 2012 at her home following a long illness.
She was born October 24, 1939 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Leroy Curry Bond and Ethel Bertha (Swendson) Bond.
She married Lester Ray Smith on November 18, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas and to this union seven children were born.
Betty and her family originally lived in Shawnee, Kansas before moving to Hermitage in 1980. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church in Hermitage, Missouri.
Betty enjoyed spending time with her grandkids, and being on her tractor, mowing the grass. She collected Pillsbury Dough Boy memorabilia, and antique furniture that filled her home. She loved Bond Bread Signs because her maiden name was Bond. Her children were always on the look out to add to her collection. She Loved old country music, and listened to it daily. She had so many favorite songs, there are too many to list.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband,Lester Ray Smith in October 2010.
Betty loved her 7 children, son, Mike Smith and his wife Lori of Eudora, Kansas, son, Larry Smith and his wife Betty of Shawnee, Kansas, son Rick Smith and his wife Bonnie of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, daughter, Lisa Meredith and her husand Mick of Bolivar, Missouri, son, Tom Smith and his wife Theresa of Hermitage, Missouri, daughter Karen Rendall and her husband David of Springfield, Missouri, daughter Kristie Hagg and her husband Robert of Bolivar, Missouri, 25 grandchildren, Shaun Smith and his wife Devon, Nicole Smith, Clint Schermerhorn, Larry Smith, Jr., Meghan Smith, Jessica Johnson and her husband Robert, Justin Smith and his wife Courtney, Heather Smith, Jessie Shepardson, Becky Shepardson, Josh Shepardson, Cody Shepardson, Mickayla Meredith, Lydia Meredith, Brant Meredith, Brittany Smith, Colleen Smith, Andrew Smith, Joshua Addison, Kara Howard and her husband Andrew, Sarah Sallee, Jack Rendall, Ashley Hagg, Mariah Hagg, Kanyon Hagg, 17 great grandchildren, Anni Smith, Luci Smith, Malik Woods, Bridget Schermerhorn, Anthony Schermerhorn, Nathaniel Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Tyger Johnson, Ayden Johnson, Kayan Smith, Emma Ward, Tristin Ward, Mackenzie Smith, Kolton Smith, Hunter Smith, Tracen Howard and Kaden Howard.
