Betty Jean Todd (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Betty Jean Todd, daughter of James Arthur and Laurel Mae Wilson Thompson, was born March 16, 1924, in Pineville, Kentucky.  She departed this life Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in Mercy Hospital, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of eighty-nine years, two months, and eighteen days.
In 1950, she was united in marriage to Melvin Earl Todd, and to this union two daughters and two sons were born.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, on August 8, 1984; a son, James Arthur Todd; a brother, Moody Warmath; and two sisters, Mary Ellen “Kitty” Daragona, and Kay Rogers.
Betty is survived by a son, Richard Todd, and his wife, Irma, of Laredo, Texas; two daughters, Nancy Todd, of DeSoto, Missouri, and JoAnne Todd, of Springfield, Missouri; three grandchildren; three brothers, Art Thompson, of San Antonio, Texas, Jim Thompson, of Cantonville, Maryland, and Mike Thompson, of Knoxville, Tennessee; a sister, Carolyn Stevens, of Prosper, Texas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was born in Kentucky, and was raised in Roswell, New Mexico, where she graduated from high school in 1942.  After she and Earl were married, they made their home in Roswell, New Mexico and in Oklahoma, while Earl was serving in the United States Air Force.  In 1965, the family moved to Lebanon, Missouri, and Betty continued to be a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Betty had professed her faith in Christ and was a member of Orla Baptist Church.
She had volunteered at Crosslines Ministries in Lebanon for a number of years, and also took special care of her daughter, JoAnne for many years.  In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, doing craft projects, and growing beautiful flowers.  She also was an avid reader.  Her family was very important to her and she loved having her children around her.
Betty was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend.  We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them throughout the years.
