Beulah Robinson's Obituary
Beulah Opal Robinson, daughter of Harrison Scott and Rosa Elizabeth (Simpson) Williams, was born June 15, 1918 in Longrun, Missouri. She departed this life Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Glenwood Healthcare in Seymour, Missouri at the age of ninety years, eleven months, and nineteen days.
On January 20, 1935 she was united in marriage to Walter Dewhirst, and to this union two sons and one daughter was born. Walter preceded her in death June 5, 1969, and on December 15, 1970, she and Lillard Robinson were married. He preceded her in death December 22, 1980.
Also preceding her in death was a son, Donald Dewhirst; her daughter, Maxine Letterman Moore; a grandson, Ernest Charles Letterman; five brothers, Leo, Cecil, Lonnie, William, and Wallace Williams; and one sister, Louise Hayes.
Beulah is survived by a son, Bob Dewhirst, and his wife, Eula, of Fordland, Missouri; two granddaughters, Regina Suter, and her husband, Keith, of Fordland, Missouri, and Debbie Frankum, and her husband, Marvin, of Rogersville, Missouri; one grandson, Robert Keith Dewhirst, of Fordland, Missouri; a step granddaughter, Shawna Ayers, and her husband, Del, of Fordland, Missouri; a step grandson, Rick Loveall, of Stockton, California; a granddaughter-in-law, Judy Letterman, of Springfield, Missouri; a number of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; a brother, Woodrow Williams, and his wife, Luella, of Osawatomie, Kansas; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend, Carol Hedgpeth, of Rogersville, Missouri; as well as a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
She was born and raised in the Ava area and later moved to Webster County, near Seymour to make her home. She worked many years at Marshfield Casket Company as a janitor and also worked as a cook at Seymour High School for a short time.
Beulah had made her profession of faith in Christ at an early age and attended the Rogersville First Baptist Church.
In her spare time she enjoyed going to music shows and visiting with friends at restaurants. She was a kind person and always willing to help anyone, she took the Amish shopping many times.
Beulah was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will cherish the wonderful memories she has created for her family and friends.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, June 7, 2009 in Holman-Howe Chapel, of Seymour, Missouri with burial in Liberty Cemetery, north of Seymour, under direction of Holman-Howe Funeral Home. Visitation will be 7:00-8:00 P.M. Saturday, June 6, 2009 in the funeral home.
