Beverly "Susie" Ferguson (Seymour)'s Obituary
Beverly Sue Ferguson, daughter of Houston William and Helen Lucille Denney Cook, was born January 29, 1944 in Diggins, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, October 26, 2013 in her home near Seymour, at the age of sixty-nine years, nine months, and twenty-eight days.
On October 1, 1976, Susie was united in marriage to Ben Ferguson and together they have shared the past thirty-seven years.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents; two children, Kim and Sammy Hale; a sister, Joetta Scott and a brother Ronnie Cook, who passed in infancy.
She is survived by her husband Ben of the home; children, Paul Hale and wife Kathy of Springfield, Missouri and Audra “Liz” Hale of Springfield, Missouri; step-children, Orliena Young and husband Earnest of Seymour, Missouri and Kristy Carver and husband Steve of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Michael, Lane, Sarah, Ashley, and Shelby; great-grandchildren, Carter and Ellie; her siblings, Bob Cook and wife Geraldine of Seymour, Missouri, Shirley Cook of Rogersville, Missouri, Linda Shanks and husband Dave of Springfield, Missouri, and Janice Stott and husband Dave of Houston, Texas; a number of nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and many dear friends.
Susie was born in Diggins and spent the majority of her life living in the Seymour area. She worked at various jobs throughout the years but found the most reward in being a homemaker to her family.
She had made her profession of faith at an early age and was a member of the Diggins Baptist Church.
In her spare time, Susie enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She loved to cook for them and was known for her fried chicken.
Susie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and accomplishments and will treasure the many wonderful memories she has created for her family and many dear friends.
