Beverly Ann Gillis (Lebanon)'s Obituary
Beverly Ann Gillis, daughter of Darris E. and Leona Coursey Blankenship, was born September 9, 1960, in Lebanon, Missouri. She departed this life Saturday, March 22, 2014, in her home, near Falcon, Missouri, at the age of fifty-three years, six months, and thirteen days.
On August 26, 2000, she was united in marriage to William G. “Bill” Gillis, and they shared the last thirteen years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Phillip, Ricky, and David Blankenship.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Bill, of the home; a daughter, Kendra Cannon, and her husband, Cooter, of Lynchburg, Missouri; a step-daughter, Paula Basnett, of Lebanon, Missouri; four grandchildren; two brothers, J. W. Blankenship, and his wife, Alice, of Falcon, Missouri, and Jack Blankenship, and his wife, Jacqueline, of Sunnyview, Missouri; a sister, Fay King, of Marshfield, Missouri; several nieces and nephews; a number of cousins; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
She was raised in the Competition, Missouri community, and graduated from Plato High School. Throughout the years, she had worked for the H. D. Lee Company, Consumers Market, Waste Management of the Ozarks, Central Bank, and later as a stock person for O’Reilly Auto Parts Store in Lebanon. In addition to her work, she was always a devoted homemaker to her husband and family.
Beverly enjoyed going to casinos, camping, and taking her children and grandchildren to Silver Dollar City. She could find enjoyment in anything she did and everything revolved around her family. She possessed a delightful sense of humor and loved to laugh. She was always honest and true and enjoyed visiting with her cousins and friends and reminiscing their earlier years.
Beverly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate her life and know that her family and friends will cherish the wonderful memories she created for them during her lifetime.
